Re: Veteran footage of Manual of Arms?

You may be thinking of the G.A.R. member demonstrating some of the MoA at a veterans gathering. He does a reasonable job -- then a comrade steps in to try to "correct" him and IMHO does a less impressive demo.

Newsreel was included on "Memories of the Blue and Gray" collection (or similar title) compiled by Bob Stiles (Styple?). Sorry my memory for names is fading fast -- I'll look it up when I get home, or perhaps someone else will recall that two-VHS tape setup that he recently put on a single DVD.

It's good stuff. Poignant how smartly (and numerous) the men march by in their late 40s and 50s, then they move more and more slowly as they age into their 70s and 80s and finally only a few can be seen gamely waving from open motor cars during Memorial Day parades.

    Cheers.

Did you order it through that website?

Just curious before I place an order with an unknown company online.

          Jeremy,

I've known Bill Styple and Belle Grove for some time. Good chap - I have quite a few of his books.
