Here is a neat piece of CW history that I just acquired. It reads(complete with spelling errors):
No 933
Redeemable when the Tax levied by the County Court for the support of the indigent
Families of Soldiers now in the Army, is collected.
{signed} S Bostick Clerk, (W?) Reynolds Chf. Just.
S. Bostick is Solomon Bostick who was the county clerk for Grayson County during the Civil War. What I'm having trouble researching is the Chief Justice who signed this "chit". Let me know if you guys can read that signature.
There were many Bosticks & Reynolds who resided in Grayson County, Texas during the Civil War. There was a "J.F. Bostick" who served in the 11th Texas Cavalry & died June 10, 1861. Don't know if it's any relation to the County Clerk. Any way of researching the document number (No. 933)?
