  • Research Question on Savannah Campaign

    All-

I am in the process of researching the role of Southern agriculture in the planning of Sherman's Savannah campaign. One item I have not been able to find in books or on the internet is list of counties that Sherman's men passed through between Atlanta and Savannah. As such, I wonder if anyone on this forum might have this information. Have any of these counties changed names or borders since the end of the war? I know it's a rather large question; it is my hope that if I can find these county names to use it to compile their ag statistics from the 1860 census, Schedule IV (farm statistics.)

I thank you all in advance.

Re: Research Question on Savannah Campaign

Bumping with a slight change. I'm looking for a map of Georgia from 1855-1865 with county names. I have heard that Georgia has changed some of it's county borders/names since the War, so does anyone know of a good map I could access online with period accurate information?

Never mind. Found it. Mods, you can delete this thread if you wish.
