Where is the mental heath people? Seriously, this kind of reasoning I would think would raise concerns for this guys sanity, or at the least his families well being. Believe me, I understand the need for authenticity, but as Barney Fife would say,"That guys nuts, Andy"!
At some point if he can load and fire a real round at a horse and kill it "to show the public what it was like to see dead horses on a battlefield" how far of a leap to,"let the public see what a dead Civil War era reenactor would look like?" How did this guy ever get BACK into an event? This kind of crap is what causes some of the population to get the wrong idea what this hobby is about.

That was a serious April Fool's story. I guess I missed that one at Olustee in 2003. I was too busy standing in line at the funnel cake stand.

From the "Gee, Do Ya Think" files..... he's just poking some fun at the Silly War crowd.

The article about the Mickey D's McGriddle finally completing it's 2-week journey through the guy's digestive tract was pretty funny too.

How bout the manacured grass and all those "Olustee oaks" in the background. That should have been the giveaway, Thomas.

That was part of my original post, Ross. I realized that I was giving this nonsense too much credit by replying. But, yeah, Olustee is about the flattest site that I have ever been to. That looks almost like Tunnel Hill. If they cut off a limb there, it would be dessicated before the ambulance could arrive. Is it possible to have negative humidity?

Thomas, is that prison still down thar near the site? Reckon some of those boys would give an arm and/or a leg to get out.....

Is this the second or third time this story has shown up over the years? I'm sure at least twice. And I'm so sure the National/State park system would approve of that....:D
