I'd have to concur with the gentlemen here. For the price difference, you'd be much happier (and obviously that much more authentic) with an original bayonet. But it's almost better to purchase one with your weapon in hand, if possible, as those "slight modifications" Ley spoke of can vary. For example, especially with the older repops, the lug at the bottom of the barrel is not ideally situated for a precise fit with some originals.
Tim Prince (College Hill Arsenal) posted an announcement that he will be at the Chicago show this Saturday, the 18th. Give him a call and see if his travel plans put him near Cinci. Good chance to match musket to bayonet.
