I rec'd this earlier this week and thought I would pass it along in case anyone had come across the name in any of their research. I'm not posting the author's name because I didn't get his permission to pass the message along. If anyone has any info let me know and I will give you the gentleman's e-mail address in a private message so that you get credit. (I assume from his message that he has already contacted park personel.)
"My name is __________and I am an Author for Quail Ridge Press and
Overmountain Press. I am gathering info for a possible book project about
the Battle of Chickamauga. I am trying to find some basic info about a Mr.
J.R. Treadway of Rome Georgia who was charged with preparing the food for
the Blue and Gray Barbecue that was held to help open the National Military
Park in 1889.
Mr. Treadway is mentioned in some material at the park. I wanted to touch
base with you and your staff if you could point me in the right direction.
Hopefully you guys have a file on Mr. Treadway. but, like any good bit of
history... I don't think it will be that simple.
Any direction you could give me would be greatly appreciated."
"Thank You,_______ "
