    I too would like to extend my thanks on this Memorial Day weekend. Tonight I was looking at veterans' monuments here in Iowa online and ran across a couple of interesting monuments I wanted to share, as I have never seen monuments such as these before. The first is in Winthrop, IA:



    There are at least two other stacked arms memorials listed on the website.

    The second is the grave marker for Capt. William Ellis, 8th and 61st PA, buried in Villisca, IA.

            Did 7 1/2 miles march of the 10 miles I did last year. I took a different route this year combined with heat and the fact that about 99% of the march was on asphalt, hob nailed brogans doubles the "pleasure" of the march.
            A very sincere thanks to Nick Duvall and Dan Wambaugh & Co. for their help in making the Memorial Day event happen. All comments by the public was positve and appreciative for the visual reminder that the focus is our Nation's fallen.
