Re: Tobacco plugs/ twists
Are the modern tobacco twists sold in store today authentic? I was at Fort Donelson last year and admired the twists they had in a display. The Ranger told me that they get them from the local Piggly Wiggly. They give them to them when they're out of date. She even gave me a few, which I lost in customs re-entering Australia, cause they weren't sure what to class them as....duhhh. Seems they're rather plentiful in central Tenneessee. Since I don't partake of the weed in any fashion myself, I have no idea of their actual period authenticity.
