  • Fort Donelson Relics on Facebook

If you are on Facebook look up Fort Donelson Relics and become their friend so you can see photos of what has just turned up in the attic of a house that was a hospital in Winchester, Virginia. If not now on Facebook, join.
The relics published are Confederate and worth the effort to see. Several very interesting hats, a boot (partial) and a half vest that, as with them all, tells a sad story.
Great photos of the real thing.
Mods, move this if I have erred in placement.

The half vest is especially interesting in its interior construction..........and the boots especially poignant.

Still and all, I was much more interested in holding the new baby.........:D

Re: Fort Donelson Relics on Facebook

I did a search for "Fort Donelson Relics" and only came up with an event listing, not a user profile. What did I do wrong?

P.S. - Okay, I should have clicked the creator profile within that event page. Sorry for the technical difficulties...

          Jason and all,
I simply clicked on the event, then clicked on the Host of the event (Fort Donelson Relics) and then I believe I had to become a fan.

I believe this was the same display was set up at the Relics show that was at the Cobb County Civic Center in Marietta GA last weekend. The Kepi and Militia Wheel hat (if the same you speadk of) were especially intriguing. I don't have the card of the gentlemen who had the display, I'll have to look for it when I get home. He said they had recently been found in the attic of an old house or tavern used as a hospital, and that they were a medely of different items not necessarily belonging to one person, although there was no direct provenance for it one way or the other.

              Guys,

              Go to www.csarms.com
There are several artifacts from the same home for sale.

                Wow, where is the recession?
All of the major items shown on CS Arms have been SOLD.
But at least they have been seen here, and there.
