Trowsers also look to be corduroy.

The shoes on the next guy look interesting also. Joe, you may want to ask some of the shoe vendors if they do something like that. Bob Serio would be a good place to start.

Look at how the leather wraps around the shoe near the toe. I've seen a lot of these on officers and civilians accompanying the army in the field. They must have been a functional compromise between hot boots and being able to remove them for comfort when not needed.

I made a pair for my Alfred Waud impression about six months ago. I wore them once at a event and they were very nice because when it got hot I slipped them off and put them in my hobo roll. I used a thin leather to make them and at the top I put a finer grade leather to top them off, which I turn over and it a smiley face. There about knee high and the leather gather's nicely at the bottom of the boot. I couldn't fine a boot maker to make me a pair of light leather boots so I made these. I'll take a pix of them and post it. I'll have to look and see if I have enough leather to make another pair. In the pix you posted the straps are spurs on the boots, I thinks?

I was thinking I might try making my own, also. I was just trying to find out if anyone was making them.
