    Gentlemen,
I'm becoming a more serious re-enactor.I'm buying more authintic equipment, doing more research.I have joined a group of fellas who are a great bunch of boys, the Bluegrass Rifles.
    I have two questions:
I was wondering how common the beard Ruben Nations of the 12th LA was?His picture is in EOG:CS,but I don't remember the page number.I really like that style and am thinking of growing one,if it was widley seen.
My second question is where are some good sites with letters, daries, and articles on it?I am doing a western theatre CS impression,so I wanting to be as authentic as possible. So any little thing will help me,like what the soldiers carried as far as personal items, what were typical jobs in Kentucky, and thins of that nature.I am also wanting to learn what the men taught about in the AOT.I already have "Diary of a Confederate Soldier,Jonh Jackman,9th KY",so does anyone have a good place to see letters and diaries of troops in the AOT?
    Thanks for your help.

    Re: Beards

Its been said before and it's never wrong. Go to the photographs. Beards are far easier than hairstyles or shirts as they are always visable. Start digging and see what is common and what you like. Come up with a name for the style (full, chin, imperial, goatee) and make your self a lil graph from your representitve sample. A world of wonderful facial hair awaits you.
