  • Ready to get back in the hobby

Hello out there. My name is Tim Allen after many years of doing WWII and Vietnam, I would like to get back into the Civil War hobby. Just a note: I was a fool for selling off all of my stuff years ago when I decided to get out of Civil War :cry_smile. So NOW I need to put together a basic kit. Because I have not been active for several years, I am out of the loop on where I can get the best: haversack, blanket, shoes, ground cloth and leather goods.

Any help would be greatly welcomed. Thanks again and I hope to see you all in the field!

I guess I have to make myself a couple of new hats!

Re: Ready to get back in the hobby

    Hallo!

    Welcome back!

On the one hand, depending upon "where" you were in the Hobby when you left, and where you want to be when you return, if may be possible that your old kit from years ago may not allow that is the gap is too great.

    ;) :)

Seriously, I would suggest thinking about your "Mental Picture" of what you see yourself doing and where you see yourself fitting in. THEN, it will be easier to deal with the kit you need to do it (whatever that may be).

Tim, Great to see that you are coming back. I know your hats are still treasured by those who have them. I came back into this mess last year after taking 6 years off. The makers are all different now, but there are quality makers still. If you need any help please email me. e_stephenson@mac.com

            Tim..,

It is great to hear from you. In your "honor" - and as I am writing this - I am wearing my black beehive TA Hat you made me some years ago. The great thing is that the older this hat gets, the better and better it looks. Wished I could say the same for myself.

            Welcome back, Tim..!

Now Abner, there are a couple of items I've excavated that will be going back to your house ............, If you'll recall you sent me a box of debris. It's not like I ever throw anything away.

Though some of it did become Critter Christmas Presents.

While you are at it make me a fine Tim Allen hat, HAW HAW HAW. I got rid of mine and now I regret it. A nice beehive, light brown.

                    You left?

No wonder I never got around to getting a hat from you!
