Can't vouch for the "authenticity" of this post, but it sounds kinda official.$170 dollars a day don't sound too bad, if you ain't got nothin better to do.

Through the professional trades I have heard of this project, one of several that have been attempts to portray some aspect of Lincoln's presidency on film in recent years.

$170 for a 12 hour day, probably have to provide your own lodging? Not exactly a good paying gig. It might be fun tho, except I'd drink all my earnings on the riverfront.

just got a call from casting asking if I had Union impressions. Filming in Nov @ Ft Pulaski. i'd say it is legit.

One of my friends that lives in Savannah is doing it. He said they are using a bunch of the homeless guys from the Savannah area that they have dressed out in horrible costumes, and farbs with leather hats and cowboy boots. But that's just what I have been told.

Got a call from Greta who is a casting agent with the movie today. They need Union reenactors for Nov16-19 for the hanging scene they are filming at Ft. Pulaski. I think it would have been a neat expierence to participate in amajor Hollywood movie but I had to decline since I am going to Bummers the weekend prior and actually have to work when I get home...Hee Hee.

Hello to all,

This is Tona Dahlquist, the extras casting director for the Robert Redford film The Conspirator to be filmed in Savannah GA. starting mid October until mid December. We are in need of approx. 50 -70 re enactors types (Union) with gear for a day or so in October and several days in Novemeber. We can use a few Confederates one day in October but will mostly be in need of those with Union uniforms.
We will be paying $120. for 12 hours and time and half after 12. We will also be paying an additional $50. 00 each day for you to bring your uniform and gear. This would consist of things such as rifle w/sling, canteen, haversack, ammo pouch and so on.

This brings the pay for a day $170. 00 dollars.

Hope this one gets farther than Aaron Spelling's "Glory Glory" they filmed back in NC a few years ago....

I went down to this production last week and had a good time and really enjoyed the filming at fort pulaski .from what i saw while on set i think the uniforms and civilian clothing looked good.and i look forward to this film coming out.

Yep, legit. I auditioned for the role of Commandant for this and saw others audition as well here in Knoxville.
