Another Whatsit!

A friend of mine found these two items in a field while hunting for arrowheads around Wilmington, Ohio. I believe the piece on the left is part of a pistol but not sure what the other is, any ideas would be greatly appreciated! These pictures were e-mailed to me so what your looking at unfortunately, is all i can get for now.

The left peice looks very familiar as a peice of a single shot pistol, but I'm not 100%.

Hallo!

In somerespects, the item on the left looks like some of the 19th century
spur hammer type pocket pistols and derringers.

The other, I am clueless.

I could be of greater help with the Ohio flint artifacts. :)

If i count correctly the flags on the item on the right seem to have 25 stars, that would put the item around 1836 i believe. wonder if it is some patriotic piece to remember the alamo??? Who knows!!!

Could the item on the right be a Gorget worn around the neck by officers? I read on another web site that they were phased out of the British Army around 1831. Does it have any hooks or eyelets on the reverse? These were more of a European fashion, but may have been used in US as well.

The item on the left is a sideplate to an 1850-60's Hero single shot pistol.I'll try to attatch an image.

You are dead on with pistol, thanks for the pic, i think it is that one exactly!!
