  • 140th Anniversary of the loss of Hunley and Housatonic

    Exactly 140 years ago today, the Confederate submersible Hunley destroyed the federal sloop-of-war USS Housatonic off Charleston, thus changing naval warfare forever. Today might be a good time to pause and thank Providence for the courageous men aboard both vessels who laid down their lives for their country. May they rest in peace and honored glory.
