Folks, Im in the process of reading-reviewing Lon Webster's long awaited, Entrepot: Government Imports into the Confederate States, and must say it is remarkable. Lon has really uncovered alot and this book is must have if you are interested in CS material culture. It is just incredible what men like Caleb Huse and other purchasing agents were able to do and how much was actually purchased abroad for the Confederacy. Lon tells the story of Huse and others, and sprinkles the raw data that we love in there as well, the chapter on Wilmington is very impressive. So, add this to your Christmas lists.
