Re: New Must Have CS Book
Appendix 1; British Knapsacks and Mess Tins in the Cis-Mississippi
Lon states that the catalyst that resulted in this book was the interest in learning more about imported British Knapsacks into the Confederacy...
Lon must have been like the proverbial fellow, waiting by the Ocean, with (in Lon’s case) a British Mess Tin in hand, waiting for it to be filled…gets swamped by a huge Tidal Wave from a sea of information!
Lon has info that every WBTS Living Historian, Reenactor/Enthusiast would benefit from. Lon’s book gives specific sizes to British Knapsacks produced, gives accounts of the age old fight about the battle between having a knapsack, vs. blanket roll, the size of a Confederate produced ground/oil cloth…
I have not even skimmed the surface yet!
This book is something you will keep for a lifetime, and refer back to time & time again.
