    Re: civil war miniuatures

For future help, if you use a white rustoleam spray paint as like a primer base, the figurines will take the paint much better.

I like to use black as my base. It saves you from having to repaint all the areas that are normally black. Both colors are recommended, actually, for different reasons and different effects. Its just a matter of opinion.

Ahhhh the good ol' White/Black/Grey primer debate! How about this: Acrylic or Ink washes? Discuss amongst yourselves.

white and grey is the best if your gonna be workin with lighter color's cause the black will darken the paint. but i got the cannon's pretty much done. so i'll get some pics of em up soon.

                  Erik,
The 1st Iowa wasn't at Pea Ridge. Their only major fight was Wilson's Creek. They were a three month outfit, and their enlistments expired around that time.

According to the National Park Service Soldiers and Sailors System the 1st Independent Battery, Iowa Light Artillery was at Pea Ridge. If this is your unit (only artillery unit listed as the 1st) then you appear to be right. ~Gary

i wouldn't trust some of the stuff on here either. i didn't just check wiki i have a friend who volunteered at pea ridge. There's even cannon's and a plaque at where the 1st iowa was. and wikipedia isn't all that bad for information. i've got most of my information from friend's, wikipedia, the official report's,book's and etc.... but what info i got off of wiki has been confirmed but the officail report's and by what i've read.
