Greetings All,
Just for fun, I've been reading through the "Medical and Surgical History of the Civil War", for which many of the volumes are scanned and available to read online through archive.org . I'm sure there's quite a few folks on this site that have done this already, but it was new to me.
Simultaneous to my reading some of these volumes, I have been doing additional research on a Union Ancestor. His records through ancestry.com cite the M&SHCW as a source of information (he was wounded), however, doing a search through these volumes has turned up nothing.
So my question(s) for someone well acquainted with these volumes is this; are there more volumes than what's available on line? And if so, would my ancestor's record have to be included if his service records cite the books?
Any help with this somewhat self-serving issue would be appreciated.
Regards,
Sam Dolan
