Not sure if this is where these requests belongs but here goes:
1. Is anyone in contact with/knows something at least peripherally about naval reenactors? And yes, I am interested only in those who are serious about their impression.
2. A friend who was head of the Rochester Historical Society has now linked up with the Charlotte Lighthouse (also here in Rochester, NY) and is interested in doing an authentic event down the road surrounding the experiences of the 26th NY Volunteer Cavalry aka The Frontier Cavalry. I have a fair idea of when the unit was mustered, who lead it, who served...and the 41 who deserted in just 4+ months...and where but no idea how it relates (despite the claims of a state historical marker) to this city. Buffalo, Malone, Ogdensburgh, Watertown, Sacketts Harbor, sure but not Rochester.
