This is great and many thanks.....but I looked up my CS ancestor and while it allows you to search and it returns hits.....on my system it requires you to join to actually view more than a thumbnail of the actual document. It is sort of a teaser promo me thinks.
Was this other's experience using it ?

You will still need to register with the site, but you will not be charged and access to any Civil War-related material is free to view, etc. Not a teaser, they just want to know whose using their information.Garrett W. Silliman

This is a GREAT resource for researching Confederate service records. If you haven't checked it out, do! I'm on this every month researching. Now if they would only put all of the Federal Service records online, I'd be happy as a pig in mud. Anyone know a resource?Comment

Also for those looking for info on Uniforms and Equipage, check out the Citizens and Business files that are on there, for example, go look up the Eagle Mills, the mills that supplied the Columbus Depot with fabric, or Crenshaw Mills.Lee White
