Folks -

I am pleased to announced that we have reached our goal this morning, with a final total of $813! The response from the community was overwhelming. Thank you so much to all who gave, and those who helped spread the word. (The overage will be applied toward the PayPal fees that are deducted as service charges, so that the final amount given to N&T is $800.)

Since we reached our goal well before Remembrance Day, I'm going to make other arrangements to get the money to them, likely through Corner Clothiers who shares an adjacent retail space with them.

Hey all,
It's been said that if the thief or thieves are reenactors, then they know what they have. If the one/s who did this is in fact a fellow reenactor, they may also be a member of forums such as this one. If so, they will be aware of the fact that we are keeping an eye out for them at the events one would expect them to show up at: The EFUBU, progressive and campaigner-type of events. He/she/they will not try to sell this stuff where it will draw the most attention. In my opinion, we should get word out to ALL of our fellow reenactors. Spread the word to any event you attend or know about, regardless of its authenticity standards or time period. This will remove the culprit's entire market and reason for keeping the thread. Maybe it will even help them realize their folly and return the thread, but that is just the hidden idealist in me speaking.

Hallo!

Are these spools of thread stamped or marked in some way, so that we might could tell stolen goods from the legitmate sellers of thread? Or the legitimate sellers of thread having purchased stolen goods?
(Whether at events, on-line fora, or on EBAD.)
