I dont know if this is already on here. I looked briefly but didnt see any mention. I saw on the buffalo news website this morning that some developer is trying to put a casino less than a mile from the NMP. I know in the past there has been other attempts at commercial development. I couldn't figure out how to attach so I copied and pasted. Forgive my ignorance of this contraption. Here's another battle for us to fight.

GETTYSBURG, Pa. (AP) - The man behind a divisive plan to develop a casino near the Gettysburg battlefield says many other communities have meshed gambling with historical tourist destinations.
David LeVan (leh-VAN') told the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board on Tuesday that the proposed Mason Dixon Resort & Casino is similar to concepts in Vicksburg, Miss., Deadwood, S.D., and elsewhere.
The public hearing at a hotel adjacent to Gettysburg National Military Park has drawn hundreds of people. Mason Dixon is competing with three other groups for a state casino license.
The $75 million plan to transform an existing hotel and conference center less than a mile from the park's southern boundary is pitting resident against resident.
Opponents say a casino would cheapen the town's wholesome reputation and disrespect the soldiers' sacrifice.
