    Re: New Vicksburg Guide Available

    Jim,

Thanks for posting the link to information regarding a new Vicksburg title. Does this guide cover the Battle of Milliken's
    Bend?

You can actually view the table of contents by looking at the free sample on the page.

        Patrick,

Had already looked at the sample page prior to posting. Couldn't enlarge the Table of Contents to an 'actually' readable size.

        The Milliken's Bend question remains.

Based on the generalized table of contents it's tough to tell. I would say that based on the National Park's push for coverage of the Milliken's Bend fight, that they would ave some information. Not to have it would be a great oversight to say the least.

You could call the park and ask someone to view the table of contents for you. Here's the visitor information number : 601-636-0583.

You can save the index picture and blow it up enough to read. Milliken's Bend isn't mentioned, most of the chapter names are more general in nature.

Hi, I'm the author of the guide, and i'll be happy to answer your question - yes Milliken's Bend is covered in the book, coverage of the battle begins on page 95. I don't go into great detail, but I give an overview of the fighting and have quotes from several of the participants. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
