I don't know if anyone else has kicked this idea around in their minds. I've always though that a history of Civil War reenacting would make for some interesting and insightful reading. It could include the post war gathering of the veterans reenacting Pickett’s Charge. The key individuals and organization that contributed to the development and progress of the hobby starting with the Centennial years as well as the historians and craftsman who researched and contributed their talents by reproducing the material culture, whose quality and accuracy we enjoy today. I think that would be a pretty neat book.
