I'm installing an all-Civil War room in our Hendersonville, N.C. historical museum for the 150th. Given our geography, it'll emphasize Stoneman's 1865 raid. I've run into a wall attempting to find any details whatsoever regarding a skirmish Federal horsemen had at Howard's Gap as they entered my county 22 April, 1865. Even Hartley's excellent new book on the raid is vague on the subject. Especially, I'd like to know to what unit (if any) the Southrons belonged who participated in the apparently very minor engagement. Thought some of the scholars out there might have a source of information. Thanks, Pards.
