    FYI - I have an almost identical bayonet. Mine is marked 18 or 81. It fits my Armisport 1842 just fine.
    You can tell it is not an american one because of the lack of blood groove on the inside face.

      The french M1833 bayonet has the fuller not ground in/ forged in to the start of the blade at the bend but has a ca.2-3 inch flat piece of blade at its base...hard to explain in English.

          If this is the bayonet in question it is a French or Belgian made bayonet for the 1842-57 series of muskets. I have one identical to it.
