Weapons stolen in Richmond

Gentlemen:

Yesterday, someone broke in Sam's car parked on West Grace Street in Richmond and stole two rifles, two bayonets, and an officer's haversack. This happened in BROAD DAYLIGHT!
The missing weapons are:

Pedersoli 1816 Springfield percussion conversion
Armi-Sport 1842 smooth bore

Both had been de-farbed by John Zimmerman.
The missing bayonets are the one for the '42 and an Enfield sword bayonet.
The haversack is a Haversack Depot officer's haversack and has my initials (DLH) on the inside flap.

Richmond police have been notified and the serial numbers have been recorded with NCIC as stolen weapons. We have been contacted by a detective and advised to make this posting.
A reward is offered for information leading to the recovery of these items.

That is a damn shame. We took our muskets in each night while ont he road, for this very reason. Shepard said...why would anyone want muskets? Short answer, any weapon can be pawned.

Hope they find em. Will Auto insurance cover the costs?

The idiots will more than likley attempt to pawn them and the Police will be able to recover them. Pawn shops are required to record and report all purchases they make from the public to the police in documented form. They also are forbidden to post bought items for sale for 90 days..... That's good for us! Hey guys, keep a check on the Richmond area Craigslist adds and Backpage adds. Thugs are now using these sites to sell stolen property because of the before mentioned facts. Take care and good luck getting them back.

Eric-- According to Detective Grata, not all Richmond area pawnshops play by the rules and the street-smart might know which ones don't. For those of you who live in the Richmond area and use Craigslist, etc., keep an eye out. Remember we are offering a reward.
Hell, with Sam's luck lately, they might end up being used in a drive-by Pumpkin Slingin' in the East End or Northside and then be held by the police for years as evidence....

It would almost be worth it just to see some crackhead walking down broad street with all that stuff slung over his shoulders. I would at least get a good laugh out of it before I
broke his legs.
