OK anybody or any groups from that area? The reason I'm asking is I may be involved in planning & putting together a CW Living History event in NE Iowa, intended to be a full Immersion event on the site of a mill built in 1870. It would be to help promote Motor Mill as a historical site. The event would be in the Spring of 2005.
The site is adjacent to a small river w/ A mill, Coopers & inn. All built w/in fifteen years of the ACW. It's approx 6 miles from the nearest blacktop road. Ample room for drill & a regulation camp setup.
It is intended to be a Living History Camp w/out a battle or skirmish of any kind. This would be set around Vicksburg or Northern Alabama area in the Winter/Spring of 63 w/ Iowa/MN/Wi/Il units. Likely the 2nd or 3rd IA; 2nd or 4th MN; 52nd IL; or appropriate Wi unit. Units haven't been decided upon yet. NO bounties will be paid though some rations may be provided. Portrayal will be stricly Western Federal w/ no CSA troops though civilians would be quite welcome.
I'd love some input & assistance from fellow Progressives or Authentics.
