I second that. The 125th Shiloh ranks right up with the 125th Franklin, but both still pale in comparison to the 1985 Innagural at -40 degrees below zero.

I try to forget these, but-
2000 Sailor's Creek Pridgeon Nautical Mile March :)
2001 Liberty Rifles Winter Picket Post
2003 Liberty Rifles COI at Fort Frederick where we had to dig through 8 inches of snow to place our tents
1990 125th Sailor's Creek
2006 Bedford Officer School, where I had a heart attack, clawed out into the snow and lay there till I was able to stagger down to the Visitors Center for help...
Re: What's the coldest you've ever been at an event?
Besides 150th Manassas, :tounge_sm I would say:
February 2002, 10th Battalion drill weekend, Hellertown, PA. 40's and drizzling all day Saturday and it turned to snow over night. I was a fresh fish at the time. The only gear I had was some thin wool blankets, a coffee boiler and a canteen. All the other guys went off to the cars. I was the only guy who stayed out all night long. At first they thought I had frozen to death. Never told anyone how I stayed warm all night, until now: Everytime I woke up, I emptied my canteen into my boiler, heated it up, poured it back into the canteen and hugged it until it went cold. Slept like a baby.
When the blast of war blows in your ears, then shall ye good men imitate the actions of the tiger!!! Stiffen thy sinews, summon up thy blood, disguise thy fair nature with hard favored RAGE!!! -- William Shakespeare, Henry V, Act 3, sc. 1

Re: What's the coldest you've ever been at an event?
Coldest Sleeping - Living history event in PA in November (early 90's) rained all day and we couldn't get fires going, froze and turned to snow that night. 6 inches fell with a think layer of ice under, 3 tents broke. The entire company abandon the street and all piled into a hospital wall tent and lit candles. a couple dozen guys cramped in there. Of course when we all settled down... I had to pee.
Coldest Ever - Living history event in a historical site in PA in early February (mid 90's). Temps were below zero, We drilled and pulled guard duty all day, When not on duty we would stand in groups and hug for warmth... it was so pointless because no public even remotely considered the idea of coming to see us. But we chalked it up to a good experience. The unit called it quits and we went home at dusk.
I also remember freezing my butt off at Old Fort Niagara one year.

Sir, I beg to differ....such events should not be forgotten, but, rather, relished and relived. Except maybe the heart attack event. The more inhospitible the event, the greater the legend.

Re: What's the coldest you've ever been at an event?
For me, Perryville 2001 takes it. I was doing CS. It rained twice, then the temperatures dropped below freezing. The scene I saw before me after the second downpour: men, illuminated by moonlight and firelight, walking slowly in circles, barely moving, trying to dry out around campfires. It registers in my mind as the top authentic experience I've had in this hobby.
Re: What's the coldest you've ever been at an event?
Just remembered another one,it was a muster out in Iowa in April of 2006. Well I forgot my winter gear back home, and all I had was a summer weight jean wool blanket. Thankfully, we were quartered in a shed so at least we had a sort of warm barracks.
