There are two Borden's Condensed Milk Labels that I've seen over the years. The most commonly found in the hobby and online is the one with three patent dates, the latest of which is in the year 1863. I don't need that label. I need the one that only has one date on it. I think the date may be 1860 or 1861. Anyone got a lead on this label?

Re: Condensed Milk Label Help
I combed the various on line sources about 6 months before In The Van and came up empty.
My SWAG approximation was to edit out the later dates, leaving the earliest one. Not perfect at all, but a solution more useful than doing without, or transporting cream and sugar separately, when we know the product existed.Terre Hood Biederman

Re: Condensed Milk Label Help
That's the one that's problematic Dave
It shows an 1863 patent date as well as a May 62.
And of course fairly shortly Matt has an April 62 event. The only solution we really have at hand is to edit out the later dates. What we don't know is what the 1856 -1861 labels looked like.Terre Hood Biederman

Re: Condensed Milk Label Help
Matt
I have a single patent dated Bordon's Condensed Milk label with a patent issue date of August 19th, 1856. E-mail me and we can figure out how to get you a copy. I have the bad habit of keeping a sample of each label I use.

Re: Condensed Milk Label Help
Matt
If time is too short and you have to edit, drop the left panel (with New York Condensed Milk Company) of your 1863 label and white out the last two patent dates. That will leave you with the vertical writing and two panels. That is what my 1856 label looks like.

Re: Condensed Milk Label Help
Dave,
If you have one saved on a computer that you could email me, that would be great. There are two versions and maybe yours is one I can use. RMWoodburn@aol.com
