The only reason I make mention of Prairie Grove is because it's this year, and as I mentioned already, after that campaign in Dec. of 1862 and the loss by the Confederates at Prairie Grove, it all but put the final nail in the coffin for the Confederacy west of the Miss. River. Besides Price's Raid of 1864 and the Red River Campaign of the same year, all major campaigns in the Trans-Miss. were over with. I'd like to see an adjunct, collective effort from all those east of the Appalachian mountains and the organizations that they belong to, to come to Prairie Grove, Arkansas the first weekend in December.
Because it's my hobby and I don't want to. Why, when there' so much going on 'ore here? No need to spend the money or take the time on all that travel when there's so much here. Not interested in the least. Not that it's not part of CW hostory but, not interested and obvioulsy, neither are the Eastern umbrella groups. After all, it's a hobby and nobody ever showed me "rules" what things I do or events I attend are "required." Nobody says youse gotta' come East, neither. IT'S A HOBBY.

      Please Note:

Let's keep discussion constructive here. "Be Nice" is still one of the "Big 3" rules.

      - You'll never get anyone to attend an event on a dare.
      - Figure out who your likely pool of attendees will be and plan an event they can't resist, deliver what you planned, and break no promises (which starts with making no promises you can't keep).
      - There is a lot of event planning expertise among the members of this site. Network with them to figure out what works and what won't.
