Daguerreotype Case Repair

Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew where I can get the thin tape to repair broken binding for Daguerreotype cases? Would it be made out of leather or linen?

Jason, try "The Daguerrian Society" web site. Theirs is of great interest. There is a links and reseorce page. I've done my share of browsing for info. The "tape" you need is , I believe, a type of leather used on accordians. There are dag collectors who do repairs on their cases. Hope this works for you.
