    Comrades!

My trusty pair of boots I had been planning to wear for 150th Mudloh have become too tight around my calves. Personally I blame the 3 days of Rugby over the last 6 months, but I digress. Other than taking them to my leather guy, which will not be completed before the event, is anyone aware of a method I could use that involves simple items around the home? I.E. soaking the uppers in warm to hot water to make them a bit more malable then forcing a rugby ball into each one till they dry. Any thoughts? Opinions? or critiques?

Actually that could work but be carefull not to stretch too far otherwise the stitching or leather might tear.If you don't have Calf stetchers for boots it is an option. Don't forget to thoroughly grease the calves again after this precedure!

      Re: Boot Stretching

      Hallo!

If you have a tack shop nearby, you can have them use a commercial/professional "calf stretcher." Possibly while you wait.

Having been a soccer player and martial artist, I have 'disproportionate' calf and thigh muscles that can mess up the fit of fitted boots. I had to have my English riding boots stretched as I could not get my calf muscle into their tops (equestrian stuff not Civil War stuff...).
