  • Interesting Video on Making Salt Pork

    Gents,
I ran across this video on making Salt Pork and thought I would share it. This is from Jas Townsend and Son (a Rev War Sutler) who has produced several videos on 18th century cooking which are very informative and intertaining. While his video and personna are 18th century based, the process used is no different for our 19th century portrayals. The instructions are easy and clearly dipicted...making it easy for you to have authentic salt pork at your next reenactmant.

I've loved watching Townsend's videos. I used his "soldier's boiled pudding" recipe at McDowell this month with a questionable degree of success. Great link!

Yes I agree, I also enjoy the videos put out by Townsends. I liked the one on a hash personally. ;)
