"An Ambrotype photo of an unidentified soldier, who left this image of himself with Mrs. L.M.C. Lee of Corinth, Mississippi, on the eve of the battle of Shiloh. The soldier never reclaimed his image and was presumed to have been killed in battle."

I thought this Confederate image bore a striking resemblance to many of the men in the 6th Mississippi adjunct at Shiloh earlier this year.

Amos Humiston, part dux. I hope someone figures out who all of those folks are. We owe it to the men who died carrying the photos to never forget who they died for.

If someone could identify them from some family recollection that would be the best scenario.

I tried playing around with the different names listed to some of the photographs last night on different genealogy websites and that didn't help much at all. I am assuming the MOC has probably already done that but it was worth a try.

I had gotten the impression that Joseph Warren was possibly a Confederate soldier that died in the war but couldn't find anything to support that.

I’ve already bought a ambrotype and when I took the plate out of the case found a note with the girls name, birthday, and how old she was in the photo. It was a very cool surprise. Although I’m assuming this was already done by the museum.
