  • Utah War Catridge Labels

    Gents,
I'm seeking pictures of 1850s cartidge labels for an "Old Army" Utah War impression (1857-1858). Specifically, I would like labels appropriate for the .54 or .58 cal M1841 Mississippi Rifle, and .69 Cal labels for the rifled and smoothbore M1842 musket that range in the years 1855-1858.

Also, if anyone has Vol 1 of "Round ball to Rimfire" I would be interested in knowing if there are 1850s cartridge labels pictured in that volume.

You could contact Fort Bridger, they may have some info for you. ;)

Yes. Other than the packs without labels that are listed as "pre-war" or "probably Rev. War", Pg 142 shows an Allegheny Arsenal pack dated 1858 labeled .58 cal. and Pg 244 shows a Washington Arsenal pack label dated 1857 labeled .69 cal. . Hope that helps.
