  • Interchanging rifle barrels

I have recently found myself in need of a new barrel for my Euroarms 53 Enfield and unfortunately I haven't been able to find any for obvious reasons. Then I got to thinking maybe an Armi sport barrel might be able to work just as well. Has anyone ever tried this or know someone who has? I would appreciate any and all advice.

    Re: Interchanging rifle barrels

    Hallo!

Without asking why you need, or think you need, a new barrel...

Short and overly brief answer: no.

(Plus Euroarms has changed their barrels a few times since the 1980's so even EA barrels are drop-in, without work or magic...."interchangeable."

Hoyt or Whittacre can reline, stretch, or duplicate barrels.

Thanks for the help. The issue I have with the barrel is where the cone threads into the bolster there is a tiny hole that is allowing air to pass through even when the end of the cone is covered. I don't know if that can be fixed, but I just assumed that getting a new barrel would be the easiest and cheapest route to take.

In my oppinion it would be cheaper to fix the problem than get a new barrel. The last place I saw selling just barrels was Winchester Sutler and they wanted something like $350 for one. I don't remember if they were EA or Armi Sport. Seems to me that the bolster could be welded closed and then re-tapped by your local machine shop.

          Cheers,
