  • Armi Sport Enfield warning!

    Hallo!

Anyone planning on buying a new Armi Sport Enfield may want to hold off for a while.

AS has listened to years of complaints that the stocks were too bulky, and have altered their machinery. Unfortunately they appear to have gone too far in the opposite direction.

Reports are coming in that the forestocks have been radically thinned between the bands- creating an incorrect hourglass type shape with the band locations being wide and the forestock being way, way too thin in and out between them. Apparently the buttstock was left alone so the "geometry," proportions, and relationships are really odd.

AS did blue the barrel bands replacing the previous incorrect cyanide gas coloring.

As they appear, hopefully photographs to share will be forthcoming.

      Hallo!

      The first image so far:

I suspect that dealers/importers will be sending them back as soon as they arrive rather than trying to sell them. But, I suspect some of the big box chain importers may sell them hoping the buyer is not an educated customer or informed consumer.

How hard is it to buy an original, take it apart and copy the thing?

No kidding! For an investment of $4000-$5000, a firm can have a mint condition original and just copy the thing. No need for all the feedback from experts, the public, and re-re-re-re-engineering. AS knocked it out of the park with the '42. Why not continue that?

                    Hallo!

                    IMHO....

They don't have to. We teach them how to treat us.

Over four decades we continue to by tens, no, hundreds of thousands of what the Italian companies make and send us to buy. By and large, the "complainers" and those "who know the differences" and "to whom it matters" are a very small minority.

And the one time, "they" (Pedersoli) partialy listened, what did they do? They made minor changes but focused the larger portion of the retooling (always a significant factor in production and in this case why ding profits by changing the Cash Cow too much?) for European competitive shooter and the competitive shooters of the N-SSA- both a minority compared to American reenactors.

I am at a loss to explain the AS fiasco and wil have to wait for the more complete story to come out. But right now, to borrow from Dr. Phil: Armi Sport- what were you thinking?

Yep... your dollars are your votes. When you give a business your money, you reward them for what they do, good, bad, or indifferent.
