"Surgical Instruments! Looks like its original or bust! " Have a look at this website: They offer repro surgical tools. Mostly geared to 18th century but quite a few of them match Civil War era tools.

"8) Sheet iron frying pan with a (riveted to body) Iron handle. All these years and no one still to this day makes a really good frying pan. Your only option today is to hunt eBay for an original unfortunately."

These are currently available at the Regimental Quartermaster in Gettysburg. I've seen them, they're about as close as we're going to get, both wit fixed and folding handles. I have only seen them in store and not on-line.

          Thanks, Lewis,
I know they're on their site, but they've been on "backorder" for over two years.

            Re: Calling all vendors!

I am working on a few of these items that have been listed, so hopefully will have some developments soon so share.

In the meantime, if any of you all know of the location of any good originals that I could inspect of the blankets mentioned, please PM me and let me know about them. I might or might not already have them in my sights, but I DO have the means to reproduce quality blankets in "do-able" quantities.

I recently picked up an original 1850's skillet and an unworn pair of men's socks from a collector in Maine and am working on getting them reproduced now. Stay tuned for updates!! Best way to be updated is "like" my Facebook page for South Union Mills.

              Re: Calling all vendors!

I've been wishing for something other than the two typical "early" and "late" US belt and cartridge box plates. If I recall correctly, I think there were 50+ variations of the US plate during the CW (but don't quote me on that). I'd love to see a reproduction of this style, which I call an "egg shaped" plate: http://www.civilwarantiqueshop.com/b17.htm
