  • Blockade Runner's Defarbing of Weapons on Hold?

    Gents,
I saw on the Blockade Runner website that, for the time present, it is not defarbing weapons. Does anybody know what the story is, or how long this may be? Is everything OK with Todd Watts?

All is well folks. Personal news is after 22 yrs a divorce is happening and so the house/shop is on the market. Blockade Runner panicked initially and put the message up trying to halt all incoming guns because they had a room full of orders to be done still. But I am still working and have told them (repeatedly) to remove that notice because I can continue working from wherever I end up.

(I only divuldge this personal info to you here because heck, we are all 'Pards' in this hobby right?):)

Sorry to hear about the divorce. But sometimes it works out for the best; hope its the case here. And glad to know you'll still be working.

Thanks Fellas! It has meant the world to me that all the re-enactors I know have offered the same good-lock and acceptance advice over this. The only ones that still are badgering me are the folks. That wound will take a long time I'm afraid but the kids are responding well to it. It's interesting what the kids can sense compared to the adults.

Incidentally, Armi Sport offers their "de-farb" version which this was the 1st of the new line at $1100 to the sutlers. Blockade Runner was trying to get ANY Armis for their racks and got 2 of the 15 or so they ordered, but those where the regular "farbbed" versions which is actually how Armi lists them in their catalog! They tried peddling these "de-farbbed" ones to BRi at the $1100 price (Taylor's is the supplier) and of course BRi laughed in their face. These and this one still has the swamped wood between the barrel bands. This one is not too bad and certainly not as bad as some earlier examples I saw.

Todd, sorry to hear about the divorce and hope that things work out okay for you. Keep working. As you said, it can be done anywhere once you settle in and I'm sure the quality of your work will continue to be the best.

Anybody know whats going on with Armi Sport? Are they retooling or just being Italians? I ordered an Enfield from BRi back in January, and BRi is saying they are still waiting for a shipment. Any scuttlebutt?

Does anyone know how to contact Mr Watts to arrange a defarb? I was wanting to see if he could defarb my Enfield.
