  • 124th NY asleep on guard duty

    All,

Back before the forum crashed (and my computer's too) I had opened a dialogue about camp hats. John Tobey had responded with a great account from one of General J. H. Ward's aides, or from the 86th NY, I believe, which stated members of the 124th NY were found sitting under a tree while on guard duty and wearing their camp hats. There was a lot more to the source, but alas it was lost to me when my hard drive went down a few weeks ago. Would love it if anyone knows of the report, or letter, or could point me in the direction of contacting John.

    Thanks,
    Ryan McIntyre
