  • Box question - Laundress photo LOC

Does anyone know what the wooden box on the left (with spaced holes) would be used for? -
Is it used for storage by the family?
    Thank you. Susan Armstrong

    Madam-

I have my suspicions what the box "may" have been for but am not completely sure so I attempted to confirm with some research. I did not find it exactly but came across this dandy website with all sorts of 18th and 19th century antique type boxes that may have an example of this box with further browsing. Either way the variety and pictures on this website that I am attaching with a link are quite interesting. Perhaps it will be of use.
