  • N.C. trip

I'm heading to Wilmington North Carolina next week. Any good civil war sights to see while there?

Fort Fisher is in Wilimington, and would be worth checking out. If you are interested in American Revolution sites, Moores Creek Bridge battlefield is also close by. There a few more ACW sites in the region, but they are a 2-3 hour drive.

Bentonville is about 1.5 hours away if your time and schedule allow.

Fort Anderson is a short drive from Wilmington, definitely worth a visit. A hidden gem IMO.

Call ahead to Ft. Fisher to make sure they are "open". Last month, the visitor's center was closed on a Saturday I was down there. Not sure why.
