Draft Notice

Has anyone ever come across an original Draft Notice from the War? This past weekend at a local Gun Show, I discovered a Draft Notice from I believe 1863, if I remember right. The owner said they were rare and having never come across one myself and nor had any of my friends there with me, it was quite a find. Unfortunately though I was not able to obtain it or get a photo.

I haven’t seen an original draft notice, but I do have a copy of an ancestral uncle’s medical exception to the draft, dated in July of ’63 (hand damage).
