  • Euroarms 1842?

I know this was mentioned at least once or twice in a thread in the archives, but I've seen conflicting information since then and was hoping someone could clarify.

Did Euroarms ever produce an 1842 model musket?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Not to my knowledge, no. Only Armi Sport has. It was a big deal when they came out too. My dad got one of the first ones. He had to pre-order it and was allowed to pick the serial number that he wanted. He went with #49 since he was born in 1949, even though lower numbers were available. I still have it but it's retired now and will never be for sale

      Kevin,
Thank you for your reply. That's my understanding as well, but again, I'd heard conflicting information. I actually just purchased a defarbed 1842 and will be picking it up this weekend. I asked who did the defarb work and the seller told me that Zimmerman had done it. While not my first pick, it should be ok for now. But when I asked if it was an Armi Sport rifle, he stated he purchased it from Zimmerman in 2000 and was under the impression that Zimmerman built it. I found that highly unlikely, and am reasonably confident it's an Armi Sport gun.

Thank you again for your response.

Actually, Euroarms never produced any smoothbore muskets. Pedersoli makes a US 1816 smoothbore in both flint and with a drum type conversion to percussion. And then of course the Armi Sport US 1842 which dates back to 1996 (I think). It might be their last new product introduction? Anyway, it would not be a Euroarms product.
