  • 1860 Spencer Carbine

I recently picked up an original 1860 spencer in very good condition. I'm curious if anyone may have some information on its history. The serial number is 29589. Thanks

    Hallo!

"29,500's " are generally all over the board.

29571 went to Co. A, 18th Kansas Cavalry in July of 1867.

    Next listed is:

    29598 went to Co. G, 6th Indiana Cavalry on July 13, 1864.

What did they do, throw them in a pile at the factory and then crate them? Ha Ha. Thanks for the information, at least I know it was produced during the war, and most likely saw some sort of service. Thanks again,
