My apologies if this has already been covered. A fairly extensive search didn't reveal much.
Certainly the fitting of a loose/tight reproduction bayonet to a musket has been covered rather well, but my question goes beyond the fitting. Has anyone ever tried (successfully or unsuccessfully) to dremel/grind/file an Indian made bayonet down to the original dimensions? My current bayonet is an older, Italian model with dimensions that are pretty darn close to the originals. Consequently, my scabbards are made for this size and will not accommodate the longer Indian made version. I happened to acquire and additional Indian bayonet in a trade, so I have no reason not to give it a whirl, just thought I'd see if I were the first to undertake something like this.
Any and all advice will be appreciated. Thanks!
