What are the differences between a 1857 cartridge box and a 1858 cartridge box?

I have been curious as into what the difference between an 1857 cartridge box and a 1858 cartridge box. I haven't done very much research to see the difference, but from the pictures I have seen, they seem fairly similar. It would be very helpful for someone to explain this to me.

Hallo!

In brief, none as there is no "1858" box.

Without getting into the .58 EB versus the .69 RB and EB variants...

There were the Pattern of March 1857, the Pattern of August 1857, the Pattern of 1861, the Pattern of March 1864, and the Pattern of July 1864 boxes.
