Pards, This is titled "What I wouldn't do for preservation!". Last night I was making rounds and treating bundling paper(turpintine, boiled linseed oil and a block of beeswax). Needless to say my house smelled like a DuPont factory. Well, In my many breaks I got on the phone to get some more money for our preservation march in New Market. Well, A couple of months ago I called an ex-girlfriend/friend for a donation. She said that she didn't have any money to give at that time and to call more towards the event. So, I called last night and she said she couldn't talk. I said okay that this was to see if she would like to give to the preservation march. Well, I get an e-mail this morning from my ex-wife(we are on decent terms). She wrote that she got a call from this girls boyfriend telling her to get a message to me that if I called again he was going to beat my @#@! I called her this morning and was in shock. So, I called this girl and asked her what her problem was? Well, she puts her boyfriend on the phone. I stated to the guy I was only asking for a donation to a preservation march and a simple no would be sufficient. Well, We had some choice words. Man, what I wouldn't do for preservation! He called me back to apologize! What would you do for preservation? Cpl Dan Morgan, 10th VA (IVR)

Mr. Morgan,
Thanks for your effort at New Market to raise money and awareness. Your post, however, has little to do with actual preservation and more with your personal life. I hope things work out, but I'm closing this thread.Mike "Dusty" Chapman
